Horse world goes wild for neighnominations

  • In the wake of the dangerous #neknomination craze — an online drinking challenge which lead to the deaths of some who took part — the horse world has moved on to safer ground, celebrating their best horses via “#neighnominations”.

Nominees, who get chosen by friends on social media, have 24hrs to post a picture of a particularly special horse (or horses) and explain why.

Numerous top riders, including multi-medallists Charlotte Dujardin and Sophie Wells (pictured above), have got involved with the latest trend.

Roland Tong paid tribute to Nadonna and posted a photo of her as a young horse.

H&H blogger Sophie Wells chose her London 2012 paralympic and grand prix ride Pinocchio.

From the showing world Ali Fernyhough selected the outstanding hack Rye Tangle…

and H&H blogger Loraine Homer chose her top 3 chestnuts.

And eventers haven’t been missing out either, with four-star rider Louise Harwood among those taking part.

Which horse would be your #neighnomination? Let us know below…
