FMD crisis: Connemara breeder invites you to a “non-event

  • Connemara breeder and judge Anne Rolinson is appealing for the horse world to help her raise funds for farmers affected by the FMD crisis.

Anne and her husband Frank, from Millfields Stud, Norfolk, are selling tickets for what she calls her “non event” – and supporters have already pledged £300 for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.

Anne’s project is a charity dinner on “Nonday” 31 April at 8.30 for 7pm (sic).

The menu includes Spectre Soup, Fillet of Flying Fish Swimming in Sauce and Fantasy Flan with Vanishing Cream.

Tickets are £5 single, £10 double and £25 per table. Cheques made out to the RABI should be sent to the Rolinsons at Springfield, North Common, Hepworth, Diss, Norfolk IP22 2PR by 30 April.

“This is a light-hearted way of attracting attention to a serious cause,” says Anne. “It also enables the horse world to help without adding to the risk of spreading the disease.”
