Edwina Tops-Alexander suffers mild concussion in fall

  • Edwina Tops-Alexander is recovering after a fall from her horse Cevo Socrates in the 1.45m CSI***** class on Saturday (26 May) at Wiesbaden in Germany.

In was initially thought that the Australian showjumper had broken her wrist but a hospital check-up showed just a mild concussion and she was kept in hospital overnight.

It meant that Edwina, who is the current Global Champions Tour ranking leader could not ride in Wiesbaden’s GCT grand prix on Saturday.

“She’s fine, but is suffering from minor concussion,” said her husband, GCT boss Jan Tops.

On her website, Edwina said she hoped to be back in the saddle soon. “I am an Aussie, I never give up,” she added.
