Do you own Britain’s scruffiest dog?

  • The hunt is on for the UK’s scruffiest dog. It’s the fourth year of the competition organised by Seven Seas and Animal Health Care.

“There are plenty of shows for the pedigree dog,” saysspokesman Tim Smith. “This is a chance to put mongrels in the spotlight.”

To enter the competition, owners are asked to send a photo of their dog, together with 200 words explaining why your pet is scruffy yet so loveable.

“We get some lovely stories,” explains Tim.

“Some of the dogs have been rescued and transformed by their owners.

That was the case of last year’s winner, Oscar the Wild, who became a loyal friend to his owner.”

Entries close on 31 August and the winner will be notified about a month later.

The winner will receive the Scruffy Dog of the Year trophy and £200 worth of holiday vouchers.

Entries should be sent to Sally Harrison, Seven Seas Pet and Animal Health Care, Hedon Road, Marfleet, Hull, HU9 5NJ.
