Court for student protesters who pulled policeman from horse


  • Two men accused of pulling a mounted police officer from his horse during the student fees protest appeared in court on 10 February.

    Christopher Hilliard, 22, and a 17-year-old youth have been released on bail following an appearance at the City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

    The men from Cheshire are both charged with committing violent disorder in London’s Parliament Square on December 9 last year.

    Neither man entered a plea and they are due to return to the court on March 24 for the case to be committed Crown Court.

    They were among six defendants in court accused of committing offences during the demonstration.

    Charlie Gilmour, son of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, was due to be in court however his case has been postponed.
