Young British showjumpers prepare for battle in Europe


  • The Team Fairfax children-on-horses, junior and young rider European showjumping championship squads have been announced.

    Chosen to represent Great Britain in the children-on-horses section at Vejer De La Frontera, Spain (16-21 July) are Maja Burnell, 14, (Zimza La Bim), Harry Chares, 13 (Murka’s Milord D’Elle), Will Edwards, 13, (R Candy), Robert Murphy, 13, (Del Fuego) and Olivia Poole, 14, (Andorra). 

    The junior squad consists of Jessica Mendoza, 17, (Spirit T), Emma O’Dwyer, 18, (Miss Tonic), Laura Robinson, 18, (Cree Cruiser), Jake Saywell, 16 (Farinelli Van De Zeshoek) and James Shore, 18, (Vitales).

    The British young riders line-up includes Pippa Allen, 19, (Cupido Z), Chloe Aston, 18, (Quiet Easy 4), Abbe Burchmore-Eames, 20, (Wilandri E), Jessie Drea, 21 (Touchable) and  Spencer Roe, 20 (Wonder Why).

    The teams will be led by chef d’equipe and team coach Corinne Bracken and competition starts on Wednesday, 17 July for all three age groups with team medals decided on Friday, 19 July, and individual medals on Sunday, 21 July.
