Belton Horse Trials


  • Vittoria Panizzon and Rock Model (pictured right) triumphed in Belton’s showcase class, the Grantham Cup, ahead of last year’s winner Ruth Edge riding Two Thyme. Cross-country leader Dominic Ruane, 22, finished third with two rails down on Hunter’s Legend.

    A marathon 72-starter advanced section L saw a first advanced win for Heidi Woodhead (neé Simmons) on The Biz. She narrowly beat Rodney Powell riding Langarth Darcy into second place.

    Junior European Champion Laura Collett, 17, rode Fernhill Sox to win the Horse Trials Support Group under-25 section — a first advanced outing for horse and rider — by 16.3pen. Lauren Shannon finished runner-up on Quixotic, ahead of Oliver Townend on Saxon Cross.
