Around £30,000 worth of tack stolen from yard in Lincolnshire

  • Around £30,000 worth of tack has been stolen from a yard in Lincolnshire.

Jayne Lancashire from South Kelsey, near Market Rasen, told H&H the tack room had been completely cleaned overnight on Wednesday 19 December.

“It was clearly a professional job,” she said. “They took everything expensive, all the saddle cloths were left.

“They had tried to get in the roof but failed and they ended up taking off the door.

“This would have taken at least 30 minutes with special tools so they were obviously prepared. It was a really windy and rainy night so we didn’t hear a thing. It would have taken some carrying as well to get it all out across fields and the arena.”

Several saddles, including three Amerigos and three Equipes were taken, as well as eight bridles all with Sprenger bits and severel sets of Sprenger spurs.

All the equipment is marked, so horse owners are advised to check if buying second-hand tack.

Lincolnshire police are appealing for information. If anyone saw anything suspicious pleas call 101 and ask for Lincolnshire police.
