British Dressage and Equine Affairs in copyright row

A dispute has blown up between British Dressage (BD) and the company Equine Affairs (EA), which supplied assorted web services to BD for three years.
The contract to provide software to BD ended in March this year.
But EA claims BD has continued to use EA’s schedule format for dates and schedule display on the BD website, while it builds its own systems.
In a statement, the Bedfordshire-based company’s directors, Victoria Lewis and Hayley Sharman, said: “We consider this a breach of copyright and have been forced to pursue this at great expense through solicitors. We hope it will be resolved as soon as possible.”
BD chief executive Amanda Bond said: “We are trying to resolve this matter in an amicable way. The most important thing is to provide the best possible cost-effective solution for members and organisers.”
