A new database has been launched to help in the fight against equestrian crime.

The National Equine Crime Database (NECD) enables users to register their property in one place — everything from horses to tack, transport to yard kit — and generate reports and alerts if it is stolen. It also allows buyers to check that they are not about to purchase stolen goods and to report suspicious activity in their part of the UK.

It costs £35 a year to register with NECD — to find out more, visit www.necd.org.uk

H&H readers interested in signing up should enter the code NECDHHREAD when joining.
