Waitrose customers have shown their support for the horses of Spindles Farm by voting to donate to The Horse Trust.
Last week a cheque for £375 was presented to the charity from the Beaconsfield branch of the store.
The money from Waitrose's Community Matters programme will be put towards the care of the horses, ponies and donkeys rescued from Spindles Farm, which are currently being looked after by Buckinghamshire charity The Horse Trust.
Each month £1,000 is split between three local charities chosen by customers.
"We are thrilled and hope that some of the customers who voted for us will come by to visit sometime so they can meet the horses, ponies and donkeys they have helped." said Susan Lewis of The Horse Trust.
The Horse Trust is currently looking after 11 horses, ponies and donkeys that were rescued from Spindles Farm in January 2008.
