British vaulters, sisters Joanne and Hannah Eccles, have topped the sport’s world rankings.
Joanne, who remains unbeaten this year, is ranked the best of 117 vaulters from around the world for 2010 so far. And her sister Hannah sits in second place.
Joanne has been number one since May but it is the first time the sisters have been the top two.
The rankings are based on the average of a competitor’s three best scores in a year.
“To be at the top is an amazing feeling, especially in the build up to the World Equestrian Games (WEG). The fact we are both here shows we must be doing something right,” Joanne told H&H.
“We’re both working really hard and willing to put in the training so hope to keep on improving and stay at this high level.”
British chef d'equipe Lucy Bell added: "The current ranking is a reflection of their hard work, dedication and commitment to the sport, both are highly focused athletes and WEG is their goal."
The pair are currently preparing for CVIO in Aachen (9-11 July) as a warm up for WEG.
