A man has been found guilty of causing the deaths of apprentice jockeys Jan Wilson, 19, and Jamie Kyne, 18.
Peter Brown, 37, from Brotherton, West Yorkshire was convicted on two counts of manslaughter after setting fire to a block of flats in Malton, North Yorkshire on 5 September 2009.
The jockeys died of smoke inhalation and burns after they were trapped in the top floor flat in Buckrose Court.
Mr Brown set fire to the building as a revenge act after being denied entry into a party in the flat below the jockeys.
After a four-week trial he was convicted at Leeds Crown court yesterday (20 May), but was cleared of murder and arson with intent to endanger life. Mr Brown awaits sentencing.
