Win a week at Horse & Hound with the BEWA writing awards

Would you like to see behind the scenes at the world’s leading equestrian magazine and start a career in equestrian journalism?
A week of work experience with Horse & Hound is up for grabs to the winner of the 2010 British Equestrian Writers Association (BEWA) writing awards.
Entrants (under 25) need to submit two pieces of work — a news story and a feature — demonstrating their ability to write and research copy on a topical equine matter and for two different readerships.
The first must be a news story or report, of 350 words, as would be published in a daily newspaper.
The second must be a 1,200-word feature on the same subject as the news story/report, as would be published in a specialist equestrian magazine.
Entries must be sent by 1 August to Peter Morris at the Royal Agricultural College — peter.morris@rac.ac.uk — with a covering message including your address, date of birth and telephone number.
Entries will be judged by senior members of the British Equestrian Writers Association. The prize — a week’s work experience at Horse & Hound in London — will be taken at a mutually agreeable date during autumn 2010.
