Lynwood Executive was awarded the dressage championship and his rider Amy Pugh received the young rider bursary at the Welsh Pony and Cob Society national annual awards.

Amy's mother, Lesley Pugh, bred 17.3hh palomino Lynwood Executive at the Lynwood Welsh part-bred stud near Coventry. Amy has ridden the horse from novice through to advanced medium in 2009.

The dressage cup and bursary went to Alex Hough's Wot A Mission, by Welsh cob stallion Maesmynach Montana, who, like Lynwood Executive, contested the national dressage championships in September.

The show jumping championship award went to Chris Randell's consistent grade A dun Mytice Minding Time, ridden by Anna Strawson.

Wales-based Dexter's Lot, also a consistent winner for owner-breeder Diane Batton and rider Martyn Edwards, took the grade B award. Dexter's Lot is out of the Welsh cob mare Ty Cornel Haf, by Nibaro, who is a son of the show jumper Marius.

Welsh cob Tireve Midnight Express earned his breeders Steve and Danielle Everitt the BS's British breeders' award, for being one of the highest-placed British-bred horses at this year's Horse of the Year Show. His sire is Tireve Tywysog Du and his dam is Macula Habiscus, now owned by the Nebo Stud.

The endurance championship went to Sarah Ollis's advanced horse Cwrtycadno Zeus. A winner of Welsh part-bred showing classes as a foal for breeder Megan Lewis of the Cwtycadno Stud in Carmarthenshire. The Arab-Welsh cob won the Hambleton 100-mile race and the northern championship in 2009.
