Frank Lampard is latest footballer to try horse placenta treatment

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has become the latest footballer to head to Serbia for horse placenta treatment.
Mr Lampard who has been sidelined with an injury flew to Serbia last week to have his left thigh treated.
Arsenal’s Robin van Persie and Liverpool footballers Yossi Benayoun, Albert Riera, Fabio Aurelio and Glen Johnson have also undergone the placenta treatment.
Mr van Persie, who had his ankle massaged last week after suffering a ligament tear, reportedly told local press "It's good, I'm happy. The woman is a miracle."
But former England striker Stan Collymore disagrees suggestions that the treatment is a miracle cure.
“The new trend for footballers using horse placenta to aid rehabilitation just shows how desperate stars are to get fit for the big games,” he wrote this weekend in his column in The Mirror.
“I don’t know whether this placenta treatment works or not … Serious muscle tears mean six to eight weeks out, regardless, and there is no getting away from it.”
According to reports Marian Kovacevic, who reportedly charges around 3,000 euros a session for placenta treatment, has since fled from her clinic and is reportedly wanted by Belgrade authorities for not having the correct licence to practice.
