Soldier airlifted after fall in Windsor Great Park

A 22-year-old member of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment was airlifted to hospital yesterday (Tuesday 20 October) after a riding accident in Windsor Great Park.
The soldier had been leading his horse when the accident happened at 9.20am. The horse began behaving badly and the man was thrown against a wall.
An off-duty fireman returning home from a nightshift saw the accident and the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance was called to the scene.
The cavalryman was taken to Wexham Park Hospital in Slough.
Army spokesman Simon Saunders said the rider had no serious injuries and was later discharged with nothing worse than a “bruised ego”.
