The Intermediate Championship at the Festival of British Eventing (7-9 Aug) at Gatcombe Park near Stroud in Gloucestershire has a new sponsor, international accountancy and investment firm Smith & Williamson.
The company claims close ties to the rural and equine community through its work on landed estates and bloodstock teams.
The Intermediate Championship was introduced at Gatcombe in 1993 and previous winners include William Fox-Pitt (four times), Ruth Edge and Oliver Townend.
Captain Mark Philips, organiser and course designer at Gatcombe Park said: “The Intermediate Championship is always a competitive class as well as one that the eventing world looks forward to as a pointer to the young horses that will be the future of our sport.
"We are especially delighted that this championship has a new sponsor.”
