Equine vets prepare for "Welsh 3000" charity walk

A group of intrepid vets are heading to the hills in the hope of raising £3,000 for a brain injuries charity.
Around 25 vets, nurses and other members of staff from Wright and Morten Veterinary Surgeons in Cheshire will be doing the ‘Welsh 3000’ charity walk on 20th and 21st of June.
They will cover 25 miles and go up all 14 peaks over 3,000ft high in the Snowdonia region.
The team decided to do the challenge in order to give something back to Peter Potts, the former handyman at the practice. Peter suffered a heart attack shortly after his 65th birthday that has left him with a permanent brain injury and in need of full-time care.
“We wanted to do something positive for Peter, who was a valued member of staff, and a friend,” explains Mark Tabachnik, an equine vet and one of the Partners at Wright and Morten.
The fundraisers plan to donate the proceeds of the charity walk towards Peter’s future, and to brain injury charity Headway.
“We all have different levels of fitness, so it will be a tough challenge. But I'm really looking forward to all 25 of us walking up Snowdon, as a group, on the Sunday morning — taking a group photo at the top will be a really special moment,” Mark adds.
