Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe recently revealed how one of the horses in Equus had to be renamed before the play opened on Broadway.
Equus character Trojan the horse was rapidly renamed after producers realised it shared its name with an American condom brand.
Since the play moved to Broadway from the West End the horse is now known as Hero — to stifle the US audience’s giggles.
Leading man Daniel told US TV talk show host Conan O'Brien: “One of the horses in the show was called Trojan. I say ‘What’s his name?’ and the answer is ‘Trojan….and you can stroke him’. All the American tourists were laughing so we decided to call it Hero.”
