Firecrews battled against a blazing 200 tonne manure heap yesterday (Sunday, 23 November) at a riding school in Northamptonshire.
Northants Fire and Rescue were called out at 10.56am on Sunday morning to East Lodge Farm, Washbrook Lane in Ecton to bring the fire under control.
A spokesman for Northants Fire and Rescue told H&H this morning: “The fire is not completely out yet — it is still continuing to smoke and we expect it will do so for some time. There is nothing more we can do at the moment but we will be going out to check on it again tomorrow (Tuesday 25 November).”
Firecrews decided to close Washbrook Lane to traffic just after 4.20pm on Sunday but Northants Fire and Rescue could not confirm how long it will remain shut.
