Does your horse or pony suffer from repeat attacks of laminitis?
If so he or she could be eligible to take part in an ongoing trial at The Laminitis Clinic (TLC).
TLC is currently testing a new product aimed at combating metabolic syndrome. Also known as obesity dependent laminitis or peripheral Cushing's disease, this condition causes horses and ponies to suffer high blood concentrations of cortisol and insulin, which are often impossible to rebalance. This leads to recurrent bouts of laminitis.
In early tests the product has already shown encouraging results at normalising these blood parameters meaning that, with controlled grazing periods, affected horses will be easier to keep free of laminitis.
If you are interested in taking part contact The Laminitis Clinic main office on 01249 890784 or for more information on the trial visit www.laminitisclinic.org
