The mini show pony titles went to the lead rein ponies at Royal Windsor today. Poppy Carter went one better than her elder brother Harry, who was second here two years ago, to stand top on Chagford Lewis, led by her mother Katy. Nicole Bowen stood reserve with Small Land Hot Spot led by her father Leo.
Team Harvey captured the novice show pony title with Penny Carvosso and Gita Jago's new purchase, the four-year-old mare Chinook Easter Magic, ridden by Rebecca Harvey in the 128cms. In reserve was five-year-old Rhos Elise and Poppy Duncalf for Julie Templeton's Show Team.
Melanie Alford's Pennymore Isadora had a change of fortune after being placed third in the novice, when Emily Skuse headed the open 128cms class with the black mare. Meanwhile Zoe Moore-Williams took her mother's Beckside First Impression to claim the reserve title from the 138cms.
The title went to Doris Lacey's 148cms Radway All Talk ridden by her daughter Emily, who also partnered Tindip Partytime to head the 148cms novices for Jennifer Gilchrist.
Emily told H&H: "My boyfriend Joseph Thurston, who rides for the Jagos, has taken Tindip Partytime to stand second in the 153cms Intermediate show riding type as well today."
Selwyn Jones and Debbie Thomas' prolific winner Crafton Touch of Gold headed the 153cms's with Gemma James in their second season.
Kirsty Harris, studying Equine Science at University, posted her first Royal Windsor victory when heading the Intermediate 158cms SRT with her father's Time Out. Kirsty is in her second season with the chestnut gelding, who is produced by Katie Jerram.
