BSJA Jersey votes to ban mother in doping case

  • Members of the BSJA Jersey have voted to ban Kim Baudains from attending the St Lawrence showground for four years at an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on Friday.

Mrs Baudains, 36, of Portinfer, whose son Josh is a promising young rider, was accused of doping rivals’ ponies with the drug acepromazine (ACP) at the island’s under-16s jumping championships in September last year.

No criminal charges were brought against Mrs Baudains, but a BSJA Jersey investigation claimed that “on the balance of probabilities” she had fed the pills to ponies at the event.

Mrs Baudains can appeal against the decision.
