The Worshipful Company of Farriers has conferred an honorary fellowship on Professor Chris Pollitt for his longstanding contribution to farriery.
Vet Prof Pollitt founded the Laminitis Research Unit in Australia. The objective of the unit has been to discover the biological mechanism that causes laminitis and make it a preventable disease.
Prof Pollitt is much published, and has done a great deal to advance scientific understanding of the horse’s hoof.
