RACING fans can now eat their way to the racecourse with bags of "roast beef and horseracing" flavoured crisps.

Would-be racegoers can collect tokens from Walkers crisps packets and redeem them for discounted tickets to race meetings.

The scheme — run by Walkers and the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) — is part of Gary's Great Trips (named after Gary Lineker, the face of Walkers crisps), which offers discounted entry to top UK attractions.

"The aim is to give families a good-value day out and help broaden racing's appeal to the wider public," said a BHA spokesman. "We've had a fantastic response from racecourses and have recruited 49 of the 60 tracks in the country, including Ascot, York and Doncaster."

The points can also be used to bid for VIP trips including days out at Glorious Goodwood.

The new limited-edition flavour was launched earlier this month. Other flavours include "man-go karting chutney" and "sour cream and drive."
