Olympic eventer Jane Holderness-Roddam was presented with the British Horse Society's (BHS) Queen's Award for Equestrianism at Royal Windsor Horse Show.

The award, presented to Mrs Holderness-Roddam for outstanding services to equestrianism, was handed over by the Princess Royal on 14 May.

Mrs Holderness-Roddam was the first woman to ride on a British Olympic eventing team, winning team gold at the Mexico Olympics in 1968 and twice winning Badminton.

She devotes much of her time to the British horse industry, including serving as president of British Eventing, chairman of the Riding for the Disabled Association, president of the Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy and a trustee of World Horse Welfare.

And she has written 25 books about equestrianism.
