The UK equestrian sponsorship round-up


  • Dodson & Horrell has pledged to continue sponsoring point-to-point races. In its 27th year of sponsorship, the feed company will back a series of races for novice riders, culminating in a series final at the end of the season.

    “Dodson & Horrell has played a big part in the profile of point-to-pointing and its continued contribution is valued by everyone,”said champion lady point-to-point jockey Polly Gundry. “To win the novice riders’ series is something that all the youngsters aim for and creates an ideal platform for their future experience in race riding.”

    Barbour will be the headline sponsor of this year’s Belsay Horse Trials (31 May – 1 June) in the second year of the event.

    Dame Margaret Barbour, chairman said she is “delighted” that Barbour is sponsoring the event as “Belsay Horse Trials is an excellent opportunity for us to support an event in our home Northumberland, particularly as this year, we celebrate Barbour’s 120th anniversary.”

    Blue Chip Feed Ltd is the new sponsor for the qualifying series and final of the Olympia Heritage Mountain and Moorland competition. The Championship will now be known as The Blue Chip Native BSPS Heritage Supreme Championship.

    “The qualifying rounds throughout the year and final at Olympia are the pinnacle of ridden native showing and it is marvellous that Blue Chip, one of the leading feed balancer and supplement companies, will be joining us this year at The London International Horse show,” said Pat Pattinson, national chairman of the British Show Pony Society.

    “With their sponsorship Blue Chip will be providing prizes for all qualifiers, and a rug for every pony going to Olympia.”

    Verdo Horse Bedding has announced that it will be the official title sponsor of the British Riding Clubs Dressage to Music Championship 2014.

    Alistair McGlynn, Sales Director of Verdo Horse Bedding said: “We are hugely excited to be involved with BRC at this level, as many of our customers are members or have worked their way up through the British Riding Club route to go on and become professional riders.

    TopSpec is the new sponsor of the British Dressage (BD) Intermediate II Championship. There are 8 chances to qualify for the Championship at BD Premier League shows around the country, from March to July.
