New UK equestrian industry appointments


  • Grant Harris has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of the British Racing School (BRS). Mr Harris has industry experience having spent the last 11 years  as business development director at Weatherbys.                                                                     “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to lead the team at the British Racing School,” Mr Harris said. “It is a world-class operation that I have been a small part of and I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead.”

    The Jockey Club has appointed Jeff Randall as non-executive director of Sandown Park Racecourse. The former Sky presenter took up his role at the climax of the jumps season at Sandown racecourse on Saturday (26 April)                                                                      “I am delighted to be joining the board at Sandown Park, one of my favourite racecourses,”Mr Randall said. “Thanks to my late father, I was introduced to the sport in the early 1970s and it has been a source of huge enjoyment ever since. Now, through my involvement with The Jockey Club, I have a chance to give something back. I’m grateful for the opportunity.”

    Martin Wood has been announced as the 2014 president of The Ponies Association (UK) Supreme Championships to be held at Stoneleigh Park (8-10 August).                                                This will be the second year the event will be held at Stoneleigh Park.
