New UK equestrian industry appointments

  • Lucy Taylor has joined BEDMAX as the regional sales manager for the West Midlands and Wales. She has worked as the office sales manager at Chestnut Horse Feeds and she holds a BSc Honours in equine and human sport science.
“I am delighted to be joining such a progressive and forward thinking company,” said Lucy. “My key aims are to formulate strong relationships with existing BEDMAX customers, increase market share and develop new business in my geographical areas.”

David Haig is the new UK sales manager at Trilanco. He’s been working at Trilanco for more than 12 years, having previously held the position of northern area sales manager.
“When Martin (Balmer, managing director of Trilanco) asked if I would take over the role of UK sales manager on Tim’s retirement, I jumped at the chance,” said David. “Trilanco has a great team in place and we all work together to make sure our customers get the best service. I’ve worked in the agricultural and equine industry since leaving school, and Trilanco is the best company for service I have worked for — I hope that I can help this to continue.”

The Horserace Betting Levy Board has appointed Professor Celia Marr as chair of its Veterinary Advisory Committee (VAC). Celia will take over from Professor Willie Donachie who is retiring at the end of the year.
“We are fortunate that someone of Professor Marr’s reputation and expertise is willing to commit time and energy to the work of the VAC,” said chairman Paul Lee.  “Willie Donachie has done a terrific job, steering the committee through difficult times when funding was limited and we are grateful for his commitment.”
