Saddle company Barnsby has a famous equine client on its books.
Last month, Barnsby’s saddle fitter Hilary Vernon visited Laura Collett’s Wiltshire yard to kit out five-times King George VI Chase winner Kauto Star.
The dual Cheltenham Gold Cup winner’s journey from the racecourse to the dressage arena has been well documented.
“You can tell that he has spent a number of years on the track by his athletic shape, however you can start to see a change in his shape from a working thoroughbred racehorse to a dressage horse,” said Hilary Vernon.
Kauto Star was fitted with a Barnsby Theoden dressage saddle, which the company claims is especially good for thoroughbred horses.
In addition to the saddle, Kauto was also fitted with a Barnsby Padded Head Bridle and an Informed Design Harmony D Ring snaffle bit.
The company said that it is looking forward to working closely with Laura over the coming months.
“To have a partnership of this nature [Laura and Kauto Star] in a Barnsby saddle is very exciting for us and we are pleased that we could find a saddle that worked in harmony with him. The next few months will be an exciting time as we see him develop,” said a spokesman.
