Sponsored bike ride for Quantock Hunt appeal fund

  • An ardent hunt supporter is saddling up on his bicycle to raise money for the Quantock Staghounds appeal against conviction for illegal hunting.

The League Against Cruel Sports fined huntsmen Richard Down and Adrian Pillivant in June in their second successful private prosecution

The hunt has announced its intention to mount a High Court appeal against the conviction, which could be a test case for other hunts falling foul of the new law.
And on Saturday morning hunt supporter Mike Rose will set off from the hunt kennels to cycle for 24 hours for the appeal.

He expects to cover between 350 and 400 miles.

If you would like to support Mr Rose’s bike ride or back the appeal, cheques made payable to QSH Fighting Fund can be sent to James Hawthorne, Pound Farm, Bishops Lydeard, Taunton Somerset TA4 3DN.
