Hunts help Children in Need

  • Hunts in Hampshire join forces to help boost TV charity appeal

Four Hampshire hunts have pledged half of Saturday’s takings and run collections at meets across the county for the BBC TV’s Children in Need appeal.

The Hampshire, Hursley Hambledon, New Forest and Vine and Craven Foxhounds, along with the Meon Valley and New Forest Beagles, were all doing their bit for the national fund-raising day.

Hampshire Countryside Alliance chairman Bill Tyrwhitt-Drake said: “Saturday’s meets, when people from all over Hampshire gathered together, were an ideal opportunity to get them to put their hands in their pockets and raise money for Children in Need. With theaddition of contributions from the hunts, we’ve raised well over £1,500 and we now hope to make this an annual event.
