Bid online for Christmas presents

  • The Countryside Alliance (CA) has launched an online Christmas auction, which will allows supporters to actively support the charity while also helping to solve the problem of what to buy family and friends this Christmas.

The website is now live and the auction items can be viewed at www.countrysideauction.com although you can’t officially start bidding till 9am on Monday 2 December.

The site currently has 174 lots and is offering some amazing gifts covering a range of pursuits and interests. From holidays to hunting, and fishing to food and drink, there is something to suit every taste.

The most expensive lot is a 10-day sightseeing safari in SouthAfrica, which has a starting bid of £2,550.

However, if your budget doesn’t extend quite that far, there is a range of smaller and cheaper items on offer. These include an oil painting of your dog with a starting price of £300 , down to a walking stick with a reserve of £10.

Depending on each lot, bids are invited at different increments, and the latest successful bid is displayed next to each item.

To bid you must be a member of the CA or know a member who will vouch for you. To register your bid, you must enter a name and membership number of a current CA member.

Winning bids will be notified within 48 hours of the auction closing.
