I always (try) to get to the stable early so that I can get everyone indoors before it gets dark! There is alot of fireworks in the area and if its dark it only intensifies the sound and the 'explosive' lights!
If I'm 5minutes late at least one of my mares is in a sweat with big white eyes!!
I also leave the lights on and come back later when everything has settled down to switch off the lights and check that everyone is OK. Do the same thing at New Years! = even worse fireworks that usually last upto 45 minutes!
