Default Body protector question

Before I go X-c this year, I want to do something to improve my safety x-c, I was going to buy a Point 2, but reading about the Kanteq it sounds really good, and I cant afford both. Just wondering if it was your choice what would u buy?

also does the kanteq have space for your medical card???

Thanks

I would buy the kanteq everytime as you will have better protection from it at half the price. All the point two does is save a bruise or two.
This is the technology that is being used in motorcycle racing back protectors the point two was developed originally for this market but never took off due to the same reservations raised for equestrian use.
At the end of the day the point two is a total waist of time without a good BP underneath. So get the best BP you can to start with and then add the extras if you feel you need it.

Kanteq gets my vote, it's the safest one out there imo, really comfortable to wear and they will tweak them to fit you perfectly. Because the shoulder protection is to the top of the bone, not the upper arm, I believe that most riders (I just looked at a pic of Jeanette Brakewell ) just wear their med card strapped on (that's what I do). The Knox technology is far more advanced than any other BP, and Wendy the designer understands that ladies have boobs

the Kan is an excellent piece of kit, the smart-foam makes a huge difference (having hit the deck hard in one, i can testify) and also doesn't degrade after 3-5yrs (as normal PVA foam in other bps does) or after an impact, so although it's more expensive initially, it lasts a lot longer. very comfy to wear, beautifully fitted to the body.
We're still waiting for the promised Point Two Open Day where they will answer the very valid questions/concerns that were raised on here by a biomechanic expert, a medic, etc...
There was a special offer on the Kan at Burghley, they were down to £195, £30 off. i checked with Wendy and she's happy to continue with this discount now for HHOers, if you ring her and order one and mention my name (Kerry) you'll get the discount...
(btw i am not on any sort of commission.)

I stitched my medical armband onto one of the shoulder pad on my Kan. The other cover is like lycra and easy to stich onto. That way I never forget to wear it and it never slips or moves

oh, btw, i think the Kan is going to have a medical card holder incorporated into the shoulder pad/guard very soon.
