Default 10 common faults

Hi all,

We had a post along these lines a few months ago, but now we want to run a poll to find the 10 most commonly spotted horsecare errors. So not things that are downright wrong or stupid, but little things that people don't do correctly.

For example —*throatlashes that are so loose they're totally redundant; nosebands that are too low down, causing pressure; haynets that are low enough that the horse could get his leg caught.

Please do post below with your 'bugbears' —*anything horsecare based —*and then we'll run a poll to find the ones that you see the most often.

Thanks!

People travelling their horses with the front trailer window open.
Feeding too much
Martingales being used with no purpose
Not giving enough hay overnight so horse has to spend 12 hours with nothing
People leaving feed out for the morning without a cover so mice and birds help themselves

Lead ropes clipped onto the side of headcollars
Brushing boots on upside down
Saddle cloths/numnahs slipping back behind the sadle or all bunched up, must be uncomfortable for the horse.
Loose martingales, its not doing anything
Ripped turnout rugs left on horses, doh they are now not waterproof and the horse is stuck with a wet rug on them
Sorry will stop there before i write an essay

trailing the end of the lead rope on the ground
slapping the saddle down on the horses back

Letting the bit bang against the horse's teeth as you take his bridle off.
