the biggest problem has been keeping the horses from getting bored, as they have been spending more time indoors. they have been getting turned out but tend just to stand around and look a bit bored. they have been getting stable toys and licks but the toys have taken a bit of a bashing!!! will be very glad when the snow and ice are gone and can start riding/lunging again:-)

Luckily my horses are next to my parents house so The days we had really bad snow fall my dad did the mornings for me then I got there after work to check them etc
Now I can drive safely to them I am still lucky to have dad on site still to help me with the waters - I will have great leg and arm muscles soon after lifting and carrying so many buckets across the fields
With snow covering the fields its not too slippery so I can lunge the mare and continue teaching the colt to lead although I am missing my riding which means the fittening for my and my horse has come to a slow plod

i dont think any words could sum this freeze up....not printable words anyway!
owning a TB when its like this has been a nightmare! all i can think about is his legs and the damage that could be done! we have all year turnout but the fields are too rutty to turn out in, and he would def break something out there, so one bored TB is not good! and also im getting through hay like its going out of fashion! i suppose that will be the next thing....a hay shortage! the only good thing to come out of this is the amazing pics in the snow when i have been able to turn him out!
lets just hope everyone gets back to normal soon, and we can all start riding properly again!

At first it was just not being able to ride, then not being able to ride or turnout, and now it is will the feed merchant be able to deliver the shavings, and will we ever be eventing in March? : )
