And introducing a new pone! Well, after Duncan did his splint I emailed some people who had a horse for lease(we went to see their horse, to but in Feb). They said they had decided not to..then 4 weeks ago I got an email-did I want him. Err yeah! So well the way down to Kent to try him and he was ace! Less than 2 weeks ago he arrived at home and here we are today.
Set off for Aske with 'Shannah', or 'Garry' as I call him. Had DBD so went down yesterday afternoon. We had two lessons with Ruth beforehand and I was hoping for a goodish test-we got a 40, which I was gutted about. But we are still getting to kn ow eachother, and infact we were midway in the section. He got an 8 for his canter, but a 4 for his trot/walk(test 102).
Off we trundle home, and back by 8.30. Pone and I sleep well, and we leave again at 6.
Now, we didnt get to walk the Sj'ing which irritated me a bit TBH. He is like a JA pony, such fun to ride and total point and shoot. However, BE100 fences are too small for a Int eventer and he decided to gallop at everything in site, managed to control him, but I was hooking a bit, rather than letting him flow. He just tipped two uprights which was very annoying, as he is a very good jumper, but now I know how to ride him in a competition.
Now, onto the fun bit, the XC! The start box was fun, as he decided to back into the side and bend it(so any competitors today it was me who tried to destroy it!). I thought the course was very easy for a PN, and didn't have much height or challenge to it-which probably isn't a bad thing. And wow, he was fantastic! Flew round within the time, and gave me the best feel ever, it all came out of a nice flowing rythmn. Considering hew is only 15hh I was very impressed with doing the 10 human stride doubles on just one, as I was origionally going to hold for two.
So please join me to celabrate by forst BE of the year! At long last i'm out competing and the pone is awsome!
XC school at home, FAR too small...
