anyone having problems getting their claim paid out?

I've been with ED for years (both when they used to be underwritten by AmTrust, and now they have split) and have made two huge claims. They have always been absolutely excellent, very helpful and very quick!

I've been with them for years too and had no trouble with them up to now but they have apparently gone out of business and sold their client base to another company leaving approximately 100 of us fighting to get our unpaid claims settled. So beware!

Seriously? Should all policy holders not have been informed of this.

Hi thanks for the welcome. It has all happened in the last couple of days and apparently we will all be notified in the near future. The claim issue has been ongoing since last October however.

I would give them time to be honest. Keep pressing but i am sure it'll all get sorted. Unfortunately when these businesses get taken over/merge then it can delay things as data needs to be transferred etc.

I have had some conversations with various people today but feel it is unfair to post about it on here - email if you want - hopefully it will be sorted soon

I have been trying to get my claim paid since December and 6 weeks ago was told it had been approved and was waiting payment but there was a backlog (they were still saying this two weeks ago when I made yet another phone call)

I sent a letter of complaint last week to their Managing Director and received a reply today stating my claim had been accepted and forwarded to MY(?) insurers Templeton Insurance Ltd with our recommendation for settlement
(in my letter I even made a sarcastic remark that this type of behaviour smacked of financial trouble!)

Kad - exactly the same thing has happened to me - although mine was approved in March ...

Templeton are(were) the underwriters of the insurance policies ....
