Heat around top of hoof (coronet band) only? any ideas?

New loan horse has been having issues with inconsistent toe dragging recently.. saddler out this week, back lady out possibly next week along with farrier to rule out the main three.

However, on his back hinds ive noticed there is heat on his coronet band only.. only on his hinds and only around his band.. not an ounce of heat in his actual foot nor around his legs?

Is this normal?

very werid one. has he knocked that foot do you know of?.

I have founf this to often be a sign of an abscess. Can be caused by other things too.
