Do all the nice as well as the nasty things - turn out, feed, bring in, ride.

Be firm
Be fair
Give it time - usually takes about a year
and love every hair on their big furry bodies

Spend time in the field if you can.

Free schooling, join up, lots of grooming find their scratchy spots!

Teach him/her a trick - there is nothing more rewarding than when they finally understand, i always find it puts a big grin on my face and the pony will find it positive and stimulating
