Default Bale sized tub for hay soaking?

So I need a larger tub for soaking hay. I don't want a wheelie bin as I can't reach down to the bottom, also it would take an age to fill as water pressure isn't great.

So a tub with a drain, doesn't need wheels. Ideas anyone? I can't be the only one.

An old bath? Prop it up on some blocks and use the plughole to drain. Just ask if you can remove it from a skip.

Plastic water trough! You can fit a bale in, and it has a plug at the bottom for draining

Has anyone noticed they have the perfect thing in Asda. Every time I go shopping I notice these bale size black boxes on wheels that are truly wasted in their use of collecting cardboard boxes!

I bought a wheelie plastic trunk from Mole Valley last year (it was black with yellow fixings/wheels)- not in the horsey section. It was bale sized and drained out of the bottom where the wheels are attached. couldn't do a long soak though as started to drain slowly.

I use a plastic cold water tank which sits on bricks so the water drains quickly. OH has rigged up a pulley with a hook so I can pull up a wet haynet and leave it draining. It's a brilliant invention that I'm thinking of patenting

Last yard I was on had a soak-a-way hay soaker, rather expensive option but it was very easy to drain just pulling the chain attached to the plug up. You'd probably be able to make something similar rather easily and a lot cheaper mind you.

Go to any builder merchants and you can get a plaster bath, https://www.uktoolcentre.co.uk/produ...caAmR9EALw_wcB
or look at the black plastic water tanks, the advantage of those is you could have tap fitted to drain out and you can get lids for them.

I have Hay Saver, which I bought as a feeder, but it turns out it's the perfect size and shape for soaking small bales! It doesn't have a tap, but I just tip it over once the hay's soaked to drain and get the bale out
