Default Red Jackets in a show class

Could someone please explain why in the showing classes some men wore red jackets. I saw them in the Working Hunter and the lightweight and heavyweight cob classes at hoys. Thanks in advance.

They're definitely coats not jackets, but they're not pink, they're scarlet.
