Triple Haynets with carrots inside, take ages to eat, nice surprise in there! Bobby apples in water? Mine gets frustrated and gives up, but my old Hanoverian x loved this game.

I don't imagine there are many calories in swede: maybe hang one up? (pitchfork through it to put string through)

I give my pony sugar free polos.

Sometimes my mum and sister visit and they bring him some parsnips but this is only a couple of times a year.

Being half Scottish I call swede ( the bigger orange one) turnip, if that is what you mean then they are full of sugar!!!

I see no harm in feeding a sugary treat for a dieting pony, as long ad it is a ' treat' and not given in hanfulls , eg a slice of carrot, not a whole one

I buy badminton high fibre nuggets approx 8 pounds for a 20kg bag, look just like the horse treats you get in small bags but much cheaper. Our two cobs love them.

If its a hand fed treat you want, a thin slice of any fruit or veg won't ruin her diet, or literally 3 or 4 pony nuts.

I second Katherine1975 I also buy the badminton nuggets, they are fantastic to give as occasional treats as they are high in fibre low in calories and have no added vits and mins do don't interfere with your feeding routine!!

Can't you just give them a good pat or scratch to reward them? Calorie free

I use Mr Johnson's Equiglo with Herbs. They are like the badminton fibre nuggets.
