He has had a problem with his eye for the last 3 weeks which is just not clearing up despite seeing the vet umpteen times and having treatment with various types of eye drops. So now the vet wants to have a good look at his eye in hospital. Previous diagnosis was for uveitis so I suppose it would actually be really good if they find it is just a tiny hayseed or something like that which is irritating his eye.
Can you wish me luck that it is something simple and not a serious problem with his eye?
*sigh* poor lad has been in to the hospital so many times this year for different tests, xrays, gamma scan, back surgery ... we are having a bad time of it.

Oh butterbean - I'll be thinking of you and ned chick. My Sunny spent 5 weeks in horsepital over 3 separate occasions in a desperate bid to save his eye. As you can see from siggy strip, we lost the battle in the end but he's happy and pain free now and the safest horse on the yard (amazingly, except for my newly backed rescue girl Angel who is turning out to be an "every mother's dream" ned!).
Anyway, please do PM me if you get rotten news or need to chew anything over or just want to share with someone whose ned has been through this too. Enormous hugs xxx

Well it is not good news, he has a problem with his cornea, vet said keratopathy / keratitis, which I gather is quite nasty and very painful and can keep recurring, sounds pretty serious. He is staying in hospital for a week or so, at least they should be able to make him comfortable but I am not sure about the long term prospects. He is such a lovely sweet horse, was so well behaved today, just wish he could stop having so many problems.

That is to bad. I to have my fingers crossed. It isn't nice. My pony had very faint keratoathy keratitis so she was in intensive care. Lets hope for the best with your horse. Tell him I said that. Good luck
