What age is a good time to start getting teeth done, checked my 2yr old this morning and his uppers have some sharp edges. Is it the right age to start doing his teeth?

Same here, although while the dentist is around he does have a quick check of the yearlings, mainly to make sure all is OK, but also as part of their education.
My competition horses get regular 6 monthly check ups.

I do 12 monthly with my mare (not competing anymore and seems to work for her), but last time the dentist was out he said to my chap "you're still a bit too young" so put it to the back of my mind and never thought to ask him when he should be checked.
Just thought I would risk my hand and stick in his mouth this morning!! Its nice having him back at home for a few weeks, managing to give him an equine MOT!

My yearling has his looked at this year and he was good as gold. has a displaced tooth so needs it re-looked at in 6 months and then take it from there

My dentist plays with all of them, weather they are 6 months, 6 years or 16 years. If they aer a bit difficult he likes to make friends with them. Callie adores him already. He just put his fingers in her mouth so she isn't wary of that being done. I doubt he will do anything other than that for a while

Ours are the same, I'm lucky that our dentist is happy to spend time just making friends with the babies and getting them used to all the tools in time too.

My boy had his checked as a yearling, who advised when he had his vacc done which was due a few months later to have his wolf teeth out and he is having them done properly on Friday. He really didn't like the gag though, do other youngsters have it in or should he do it without? He had a proper strop and threw himself on the floor.
