Does anyone know of any english springer spaniel puppies for sale in or around Hertfordshire? We are looking for more of a working type rather than a show type and do not want the dogs tail to be docked.

You could try the Shooting Times, might be a couple near you. Unlikely to be un-docked if they are working sorts though, as they will want them to go to working homes.
