GORING HEATH - SUNDAY UPDATE Following an inspection at 6.00pm today at Goring Heath, it was felt that unless there is substantial rain between now and the morning the event will go ahead as planned. Day before dressage has successfully been completed today.
If there is any change to the event status overnight a message will be posted on this website and on the phone hotline at approximately 6.15am tomorrow.
However by 6.15 I shall be well on my way!

I'm hoping OH will drag himself out of bed if I ring to remind him - he will be so happy esp as he will have to take grumpy 15 year old to A&E tomorrow morning as I think he has broken his hand playing rugby today. ATM he says it doesn't hurt but I can tell he is lying. Thanks for the offer though.
Bad news about the rain - I guess they have taken that into consideration.

I'm also not convinced and will have early start as well...! Bloody weather!
I'm not sure I will run mine xc anyway, or even SJ if it's crap going so I could be going a long way for a dressage test!!

Was there this afternoon helping with the dressage. Arena held up very well. Didn't go over to xc but there was only one area that was too wet for them to run today and that had dried. Since I left there we've had one heavy shower. It's going to be soft but if they're running then it's safe and it just depends what your horse likes and that's your choice to run or not
Bridge in Whitchurch says 11ft but am sure standard 7.5t lorries come that way

I'm not convinced that if it was bad enough not to run today then it will be ok tomorrow. I've got late times and am nearly last out xc so i'm guessing the course is gonna be quite cut up by then. But we won't actually know unless we go and I'm not sure its worth driving for nearly 3 hours to find out!!
I've never been there before so have no idea about the ground and how well it might stand up to a days competing! Bloomin weather!!!

Wait and see what they do in the morning, I think they will cancel.
I only intend to do dressage even if they do run, unless by some miracle the going is fab when I get there!
