thoughts for the fallen.....
      #3478892 - 03/09/2008 14:38

Gatcombe took a bit of a toll. so spare a few thoughts for Ants McKeowen, broken leg, Joss Gray, cracked pelvis and Louise Skelton, broken ribs i think. Pippa also had a fall and banged her head so will not be riding titch at Burghley although she is cleared fit to do the BYEH classes. Ensign re -routes to Pau.

well lots of healing vibes being sent to all those who need mending. Such a shame for Louise she is so lovely (used to be one of my clients) I do hope they mend soon.

Gosh thats a casualty list! - do you think Louise will still go to Burghley? Think she was drawn 1st to go! I feel especially awfull for her as she has had a fair few nasty crunches over the years! - her ankle especially!
Sad to hear Pippas not going to Burghley - Ive love to see that horse go round! Is Pau (although I know it is a ****) still judged by riders as a ***.1/2 star?
I wish them all speedy recoveries - broken bones are never ever ever fun!

Just realised that Gatcombe was monday so the day after Firle was going to say - PF was riding & winning on the sunday!

Looks like it'll be a slightly more open Burghley then this year

Poor things - I saw Joss only a few minutes before he went, I didn't even know he fell till I saw it on here this am It was pretty slippy wasn't it but I'm so glad they still ran, especially now with the weather this week. Healing vibes anyway to all...

BTW, no I don't think after last year people see Pau as a lesser track, that was a real 4*!

Louise Skelton's two both trotted up at Burghley today, so presumably she's riding with her ribs strapped up and going for it in spite of the pain.

I think he means the rides he W/D from Gatcombe, which were his Blenheim horses, which he W/D cos of blenheim, not the ground or falls at Gatcombe.

Thought so - didn't think WFP would withdraw from Burghley without a damn good reason ie: broken bones, concussion etc.

WFP said on his website about really gloomy conditions at Gatcombe - must've affected the horses judgement.

Hope Burghley is better!!!
